Website Template - free to use
I often browse template sites for inspiration of colors and layouts. After a few of these you begin to see the layouts are little more than Header, a 2 0r 3 column body section, and a footer. As practice for future websites I decided to create some website templates of my own. Finding the right colors and fonts is often the biggest challenge. So I borrowed colors from a dreamweaver template that comes with the software and created my own version of it. I wanted to create a 3 column fluid layout with plenty of areas for navigation.
Template 1 is the first of a series I hope to develop to explore style, structure, and technique. This relatively simple template contains all the CSS, HTML, and place holders necessary to create a full site. The CSS is embeded in the header section of the HTML but could easily be moved to its own file. The 3 columns can be converted into two columns by removing the submaincontent area and expanding the mainconent percentage of the page. Colors can be easily modified throughout if all you want is the structure.
The template is free to use as long as you notify me by email of your intention to use it. The image of the hunter in the grass must be purchased from istockphoto.com (less than $3 for a license). Once you purchase the image you can use my modifications to it or make your own blended image.
