\nNitrite is still low,but readable. Missed weekly filter clean.<\/p>\n

\npH dropping rapidly. Added 1\/3rd lb baking soda and 15% water change which brought up pH to 7.2. Will make a plaster of paris pill tomorrow to help increase hardness. Filter cleaned.<\/p>\n

\n06\/17\/2012 pH stable now between 7.2 and 7.4. Water temp 70-72*, Airtemp 65-80*<\/p>\n

\nHot weather expected next few days. Fish are slow to eat for some reason. Asagi has developed black spot on head(Hikui?)
\nTested water with pool strips. Chlorine 0, KH <100, Total Alkalinity low.<\/p>\n

\nMore string algae in filter. pH dropping again. need to add buffer to get it back up around 7.5.<\/p>\n

06\/24\/2012 added 1 cup baking soda (too much) and pushed pH back up to 7.7-7.8 range.
\nWill let pH fall to 7.5 and add some buffer. Added new matala filter matting.<\/p>\n
