Plants for the pond and garden

I went to a nursery yesterday to begin my search for plants for the pond area.
Things I like so far:
Mugo Pine, a mound of pine needles that gets about 5x5x3 high.
Japanese Black Pine
Weeping hemlock
Lilly of the valley – but it is poisonous to dogs.
Japanese maples of course
Mondo grass
Azaleas – need to find a small leaf variety
weeping cyprus – blue and can be trained like a border.
